Statistical analysis is about making sense of a set of data or a series of observations. Most people, whether they realize it or not, have conducted some kind of statistical analysis, even something as basic as balancing a checkbook. Statistical analysis can summarize and even illuminate a set of data, depending on the type of analysis performed. Techniques of analysis range from simple measures, such as means and standard deviations, to more complex analyses such as regression.
