1: Location, Location, Location – ideally, you want to look for a visible, high traffic area. Be sure that your billboard will not be hidden by branches or other interfering objects. Keep in mind, the better the location; the higher the price. However, the bigger the investment; the greater the return.
2: Design – billboards need to be eye-catching and informative. However, the information displayed must be kept to a minimum considering that most of your audience will be viewing the ad while driving. Include your business name, location and a graphic. A good rule of thumb is to keep it to a maximum of eight words.
3: Is a Billboard right for you? – the most important question to ask yourself. Outdoor advertising is pricey, therefore it’s imperative that you analyze whether this tool is right for you. Billboards are not for targeted audiences. They will capture a broad range of the general public. If your business caters to a niche market, this may not be the most cost-effective route for you.
