Guerilla Building Projection is defined as the placement of projected advertising imagery (still images or motion video) on buildings without city advertising permits or building owner permissions. There are multiple logistical reasons companies utilize this approach; cities are reluctant to issue temporary advertising billboard permits and/or the cost or lead-time associated with securing permits. However the number one reason companies deploy Guerilla Building Projection is that it creates an undeniable street presence that most consumers find interesting, edgy and often captivating. Note that this advertising medium can result in consumer complaints and/or city fines, in turn, brand marketing decision makers need to be fully aware of the pluses and minus of the medium.
